Why initiation:
Initiation in Viadescioism is a pivotal process with many purposes. It represents a formal commitment to delve into the deeper aspects of Viadescioism, symbolizing an individual’s preparedness to absorb and apply the teachings of the tradition. This process is not just about gaining access to information; it’s about connecting with the tradition on a deeper, ritualistic level.
Open to all who are interested, the practice of Viadescioism becomes truly effective only when one undertakes self-initiation. This is because the teachings are interconnected, forming a coherent whole that can’t be fully understood in pieces. Initiation prevents the misrepresentation or decontextualization of these teachings, ensuring that they are embraced in their entirety and with the right understanding. It’s through initiation that one commits to studying and understanding the practice thoroughly, integrating its principles into their life.
Moreover, initiation in Viadescioism is more than a mere formality; it’s a transformative journey. It marks the beginning of a deeper exploration into the tradition, allowing the initiate to redefine their personal understandings and values in alignment with Viadescioic principles. For solitary practitioners, it’s a highly personal act, allowing for introspection and personalization of their journey. In a community setting, it reinforces one’s role and connection within the group, renewing bonds with fellow practitioners. Thus, initiation is not just about learning; it’s about transforming oneself to align with the ethos of Viadescioism, ensuring a holistic and authentic engagement with its teachings.
The initiation ritual is a sacred journey that leads seekers towards personal transformation and a connection with the divine. This guide presents the steps and phases of the initiation ritual in the form of instructions for those who are drawn to this esoteric path. This sacred journey is not just a ritual but a profound transformation that aligns an individual with the divine essence of existence.
Initiation into the Mysteries:
Initiation is a personal choice for those dedicating themselves to this practice. It serves as a formal acknowledgment of entering the tradition and a means to receive wisdom and a Makna (Blessing) from the practice’s divines. This can be undertaken individually or in a group. While not absolutely necessary for engaging with the information, it is a rite of passage within the tradition. Initiation is open to all who wish to partake. It symbolizes a second birth into the practice, marking a transformation from one’s former self to a new self, transitioning from the uninitiated world to the initiated Seeker.
Initiation and Cultural Integration in Viadescioism:
In the context of Viadescioism, initiation is more than a mere formality; it is a profound declaration before the community and its deities, signifying a commitment to embrace the culture and its practices in every meaningful way possible. This ritual transcends simple verbal declarations, embodying a deeper commitment to becoming an integral part of the Viadescioism community.
Cultural and religious acceptance is a complex and sensitive matter, requiring more than just a fleeting interest or desire to belong. For those who perceive this as a barrier, it indeed serves as one. Assimilating into a culture is not an overnight endeavor. It demands preparation, dedication, and a genuine commitment to understanding and respecting the cultural context and practices. It involves appreciating the deeper meanings behind cultural expressions and practices, recognizing that it’s not merely about outward appearances or superficial adoption of rituals.
Adhering to the practices of Viadescioism, involves a deep understanding of its contexts and the appropriate times and manners to engage in its practices. It’s a journey of learning, respect, and genuine integration into the cultural ethos of the community.
The culmination of this ritual is the opening of the seeker’s eyes, both literally and metaphorically, to the divine wisdom and interconnectedness of all life. This initiation marks a rebirth, a second birth into the path of Viadescioism, where the seeker becomes a part of the sacred tradition and begins a lifelong journey of self-discovery, wisdom, and divine connection. Through initiation, the seeker not only learns the teachings of Viadescioism but also embodies them, transforming into a vessel of divine wisdom and a beacon of light for others.
Preparation Phase:
Begin with a period of purification to cleanse your being. Cleansing one’s spiritual, mental, and physical spheres. This may include taking a ritual bath, meditating to clear your mind, or performing smoke cleansing with incense to purify your environment. These acts serve to prepare the practitioner for engaging with the Kna they will work with and to ensure a clean slate as they embark on their journey.
Ritual Bath: Fill your bath with warm water and add purifying herbs like lavender, rosemary, or salt. As you soak, visualize any negative Kna being washed away.
Incense or Smoke Cleansing: Use sage, Rosemary, Cedar, Frankincense, myrrh, or other sacred herbs to cleanse your space. Waft the smoke around your body and environment, envisioning the smoke carrying away negative kna.
Meditation: Sit in a quiet place and focus on your breath. As you inhale, imagine drawing in clarity. As you exhale, release any mental stress.
Decluttering: Clean and organize your living space. Remove items that no longer serve you or hold negative associations.
Don new clothes or a special garment that symbolizes your commitment to the path. This act represents shedding your old self and preparing to embrace a new journey, and is also part of the purification process.
Creating a Knala:
Choose a quiet, undisturbed place. Choose a specific location for your Knala. This can be any area or object that will serve as your center. It is recommended to use a physical object, like a cairn of stones, to mark the center. This helps maintain the Knala for longer periods. Cleanse the area by stripping away any residual Kna. This can be done by using cleansing methods like smoke or sound. This process returns the space to its natural state, preparing it for the Knala. Enter a meditative state to focus on the metaphysical constructs of the Knala. Relax your body, focus on your breathing, and visualize the space you are about to create. Imagine a massive cloud of Kna above you. See it swirling and moving downward like a tornado, filling the top of your head or a designated space. Focus on the center of the space and visualize a ball of Kna forming there. Tap on the center three times while saying “Knaskasha,” or “Creation” to bring your Kna to the center. Visualize roots extending from the center, connecting deeply with the earth. Fill your hand with Kna and project it towards the perimeter by visualizing kna doing so. You can use Kna alone or a physical representation like stones or a cord to mark the boundary. Walk around the perimeter while projecting a line of Kna and say “Xabala,” or “Circle”. Imagine the circle forming and connecting above you in the sky and beneath you in the ground. Once you have done that your Knala is complete and you are able to start the initiation.
Invocation Phase:
Sit, lay, or stand, comfortably within the space. Once you are in that position begin by closing your eyes and begin to breathe for a couple moments entering a state of deep meditation. Visualize yourself standing at the entrance of a cave.
In your mind’s eye, reach out and touch the Earth, feeling its Kna. Then, with intention, call down the stars from the cosmos above. Picture these celestial forces converging into a single point within your being. This imagery symbolizes your connection to both the earthly and the cosmic, grounding them in the present while elevating you to higher realms of understanding. As you hold this image, repeat to yourself:
“I am divine,” or “Daska, Yamasa”
Affirming your connection with the existence.
Begin by calling upon Vaarla Jacai, the White Wolf of Guidance. Repeat Jacai’s name in a resonant voice, feeling their Kna and presence enveloping the space. Visualize a white wolf with blue eyes, embodying calmness, wisdom, and guidance. With Jacai’s presence acknowledged, affirm your desire to join the tradition by saying:
“I wish to join the tradition and would like you to open my eyes.” or “Daska Uva, La Baba Tala, Ola Skada, Va Dakna Iba Savadakna”
Place your hands over your eyes as a symbol of your willingness to see anew.
Slowly recite the names of all the divines:
“Dakna, Shakna, Nakna, Ukna, Sadaqa, Ladaqa, Madaqa, Dasakna, Damakna, Oxakna”.
Each name should be spoken with reverence and the intent to connect with their Kna. The recitation of divine names and sacred affirmations aligns the seeker’s spirit with the divine forces of Viadescioism.
Conclude this recitation with the affirmation:
“I am, as you are. It is done.” or “Skada, Daska, Daska, Skada. Dada Laabt.”
This phrase acknowledges the divinity within yourself, aligning your spirit with the Kna of the divines.
Closing the Ritual:
Remove your hands from your eyes and gently open them, symbolizing your awakening to your new self as a seeker in Viadescioism. Spend a few moments in contemplation of your place within the existence and the interconnectedness of all beings.
Dismantling the Knala: When you are finished with the Knala, place your hand down in the center and say “Ard,” or “Banishment” while visualizing the Knala dissipating. This can be done using other techniques from Ard as well.
You may choose to leave an offering for Vaarla Jacai or other divines as a token of gratitude. Close the ritual space by thanking the divines, and gently grounding yourself back into the physical world.
Post-Ritual Reflection:
After the ritual, it’s beneficial to journal your experiences and insights. Reflect on the feelings, thoughts, and visions that may have arisen during the ritual. If you are part of a Viadescioist community, you may seek to share your experience with others, recognizing your new status and seeking guidance for your continued journey.
